Committee and officer roles are voluntary/unpaid but you can claim travel and other expenses to attend meetings and carry out other BDAC commitments

Attending monthly meetings which are currently planned a year ahead and held on Saturday fternoons, as well as the main BDAC events – the AGM and Half Yearly meeting. The remaining scheduled meetings for 2026 are: 13th June, 11th July, 8th August, 12th September, 10th October, 14th November (half yearly meeting).

Anyone who cares about the future of allotments and who has experience and skills which could help build the foundations of a strong and capable organisation

To lead the BDAC – to coordinate, represent, advise and support plotholders and allotment associations in Birmingham and ensure a future for all our sites

If you’re not sure about joining at the AGM, attend meetings as an observer to start with and then be co-opted

You can put your name forward in advance of the Annual General Meeting or on the day. Get two other Members to nominate and second you as a candidate.

Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and any other roles considered appropriate at the AGM

The Rules of the incorporated Birmingham & District Allotment Co-operative allow for between 10 and 15 Executive Committee members including Officers

Any BDAC Member i.e. an individual tenant on a site managed by Birmingham City Council
